It is said that Mt Kailash is the most sacred
place in the world, the axis of the universe, the entrance to heaven, and the gateway to God. Located in one of the most inhospitable places, with sub zero temperatures and little to no oxygen (22000 feet above sea level, no wonder Its a place of purity........
Kailash is 6000 meters above sea level, with sub zero temperatures and little to no oxygen.
Due to the rugged terrain, It takes days to reach Kailash. There are no trains, or plane, only 4x4 and foot.
- Mt Kailash only opened in 1993
- It has never been climbed
- Climbing Kailash is not permitted
- The perimeter is 53KM (32.5miles)
- Walking the perimeter takes 3 days
- Only 15,000 pilgrims per year
- Very few westerners go there
